Meet Katie

Hi, I’m Katie, the founder of Malachite Canine. My journey into dog training didn’t start with dogs — it started with horses.

Before I ever picked up a leash, I spent years working with horses, learning how to communicate through energy, timing, and presence. Horses taught me how to listen before speaking, how to lead without force, and how to read what wasn’t being said. That experience became the foundation for how I train dogs today: with clarity, calm leadership, and a deep respect for the relationship between human and animal.

I started Malachite Canine to help dog owners build something lasting — not just obedience, but understanding. I work with both puppies and problem dogs, helping families reset the dynamic, create structure, and feel more confident in everyday life. My approach is balanced and realistic, grounded in years of hands-on experience and a genuine passion for creating better lives for both dogs and the people who care for them.

If you’re struggling to get through to your dog, or just want to start off on the right foot, I’m here to help. Training can feel overwhelming — but it doesn’t have to be. I’ll walk you through the process step-by-step, with support that makes sense for your real life.

My Philosophy

Dog training isn’t just about fixing bad behavior—it’s about creating a lifestyle that works for both you and your dog.

I believe in clear communication, fair boundaries, and building a strong relationship based on trust and respect. Every dog is different, so I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. My job is to meet your dog where they’re at and help you guide them with confidence.

Training should feel simple, practical, and empowering. It’s not about perfection—it’s about progress, consistency, and showing up for your dog in a way that makes sense for your everyday life.

Let’s train.

We’ll be with you every step of the way.
